Doctor of Ramechhap District Hospital and Corona Focal Person Dr. Ananda Prasad Acharya said that the impact of Corona virus has not reached the community level in Ramechhap district yet.
Talking to Janata Voice, Dr. Acharya said that the infection of the coronavirus has not reached the community level in Ramechhap district as the number of coronavirus ( covid 19 ) patients has been increasing in recent times.
The patients in the isolation wards in different municipalities of the district did not show any major and unusual symptoms. Elaborating further in this regard, Acharya says,
“Currently, the patients in the isolation wards in the district have no major problems other than the common cold, fever and diarrhea,” he said. We have been able to treat patients of this nature here. If any patient has a complicated condition, we will send them to Kathmandu for further treatment, ”said Dr. Acharya.
He said that if there is any possibility of infection in any place of the district and they want to stay in home isolation, they will be allowed to stay only after understanding the possibility with the municipalities.
The service can be made available only if the health department of the concerned municipality can make effective arrangements for their treatment, otherwise it will not be possible, said Acharya.
Recently, an employee of Manthali Municipality was found to be positive Dr. Acharya said this in the context of various comments regarding living in home isolation.
In this regard, he further says, ‘Home isolation may be available for patients with normal conditions and patients with no symptoms but corona positive. But that too only if it is allowed to live within the bounds of extreme discipline. In such a situation, social responsibility will be even greater for them. It has been tightened so that it does not spread elsewhere in the society. They should be provided necessary medical services by the concerned municipalities. ‘
Acharya says that there is a huge psychological impact on the patients staying in isolation.
Nothing has happened to the patient, but when they have to stay in isolation for 14 days, their day to day work is exhausted and they have the illusion that the corona positive in them is due to the wrong result.
“How appropriate is psychotherapy/Psychological counseling for patients in isolation?”
In response to a query from Janata Voice, Acharya says,
‘This Psychological counseling is needed, but the state has not been able to arrange it. Moreover, the state has not provided Psychological counseling anywhere in the country. This may not be due to the need to maintain distance with patients in isolation. ‘
According to the opinion of Dr. Acharya ,Psychological counseling can be very effective because of the mental distress of the patients in isolation.
