After Dr.Neupane was given the responsibility of the head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Sindhuli District Hospital, we had a brief conversation with him. Here is presented, excerpt from a conversation with Dr. Neupane:
Question: What is your feeling after the addition of responsibility of the head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sindhuli Hospital?
Answer: There is a feeling of happiness somewhere inside. The Sindhuli District Hospital has given me a new responsibility after evaluating my performance.Previously, it was enough for me to be responsible only for my own work, but now, the responsibility of making every decision of the department of the hospital has been added. When it comes to the responsibility of thinking for the benefit of other subordinates, I feel that I have more responsibility. However, the work I did yesterday, which is not new to me and I have been given the responsibility of the head of the department, it seems that there is more parental responsibility towards the hospital and the service recipients.
Question: Does Sindhuli District Hospital have all the necessary health infrastructure?
Answer: That has not happened. There are still problems in the work without the necessary equipment. But even with the best use of available materials, we are committed to providing effective services to the hospital. It is hoped that the hospital management and the Government of Nepal will consider strengthening the Sindhuli Hospital with all the necessary infrastructure. I will not allow any question to arise in the sweat of my hard work.
Question: What role do you play in strengthening the Sindhuli Hospital with the necessary infrastructure after you become the departmental head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology?
Answer: I will try my best. I will not spare anyeffort to strengthen Sindhuli Hospital with the necessary infrastructure. I hope and believe that the Hospital Management Committee and the Government of Nepal will assist me in managing the materials I need for my work.
Question: Shubhjivan Hospital is also operating in Khurkot. Is there no problem in fulfilling the responsibilities of both Sindhuli Hospital and Shubhjivan Hospital at the same time?
Answer: Absolutely not. First of all, I have been given the responsibility of a department in Sindhuli Hospital. That responsibility is to be fulfilled within the scope of government norms and discipline. I have fulfilled such responsibilities by visiting various remote places in Nepal previously. Apart from that, I have a responsibility to fulfill the responsibility given to me by the hospital management in that hospital. Here ,Shubhjivan is also an investment within my service. How I raise my investment is part of my plan.I have appointed skilled and experienced doctors in Shubhjivan Hospital in the past as well.In Shubhjivan, I am paying more attention to the management side than working. Therefore, I can easily withstand the work pressure of both Sindhuli Hospital and Shubhjivan Hospital.
Dr. Neupane received his MBBS from Almaty(formerly Alma-Ata) Kazakhstan in 1999 and his MD in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Obs & Gyane Russia. Dr. Neupane is a Certified Gynecologist and Obstetrician of Nepal Medical Council No. 3533.
